Roy started painting about 25 years ago and worked in oils mostly doing the Bob Ross style of painting. He switched to watercolor painting 20 years ago because of the mess associated with oil painting. It was also very difficult to get the oil paintings completely dry. Some oil paintings that were years old would still be wet. Also, the price of oil paints and canvas was much more expensive than watercolor paints and watercolor paper. Roy currently lives in Southwest Florida and does watercolor painting workshops in Florida, Georgia and Costa Rica.
